Arbor Student App
In January 2026, The Bishop Fraser Trust launched Arbor across all secondary schools. Arbor replaced SIMS, the system we use to manage all of our student records. The benefit of this system means that students now have access to a Arbor Student App. Students were given a letter on Friday 16th January with details on how to log into the platform. If you haven't managed to create the account and need support, please contact office@stjames.tbft.uk
To download the Arbor App for your mobile device, please use one of the following links;

Dashboard
When entering the Arbor Student App, you will be presented with your timetable on the calendar section of the app. You can scroll through your calendar to see the lessons you have. You will also see orange and red events in your calendar, these will be clubs and detentions you have been allocated to.

School Screen
Selecting the school icon at the bottom of the app will take you to the main functionality of the Arbor Student App. From this screen you can access your homework assignments, focus on your attendance information and check your behaviour.

Attendance
The attendance option will display attendance figures broken down into your present marks, absent marks and late marks. You will be presented with a piece of analysis that focuses on this weeks attendance compared to last week. You can select to focus on the week, the term and this year.

If you select the Timetline option, you will be able to see a scrollable calendar. For each lesson, you will see a tick if you attended, a cross if you did not attend and a clock if you were late.

Behaviour
The behaviour option will display the behaviour categories that are positive, negative, your running total S2S and your Homework Success Points. You can select to focus on the week, the term and this year.

If you select the timeline option, you be able to view your S2S scores for each lesson, each day. This again is a scrollable screen so you can go back to any previous day,

Within the same screen, you will also see behaviour points that have been added in a red box. In the example below, you can see a behaviour point was added for Science. If you click on the behaviour point, you will be presented with additional information.

Homework Assignments
The assignments option on the school page will present you with a 3 lists of homework. The lists are Due, Overdue and Completed. This screen is a scrollable screen to show you all future homework you have been set.

If you select one of the assignments you will see additional information on the homework. A vital part of this screen is swiping to mark as completed at the bottom.
If you fail to do this, the homework will be placed into the Overdue section and go red on your app and the parents app.

By swiping on the homework, you will now see that the Completed options will now have a homework allocated to that section to indicate the homework has been completed.

Detentions
Notifications have been sent home via EduLink One about detentions but often students inform us that they did not receive or read the notifications. To resolve this, all detentions issued will be displayed in the calendar section of the app for both students and parents to see.
As with all calendar events, you can click on these to see additional information.
